When you use SSO, you want a Login Page which works with your business model. You also need an application that is simple for you to access when you need it. This means that you want an application that may be customized and built around your business model and SSO. Service Gateway has these 2 things.
When you use SSO, it’s quite important to get a login page which works as you expect. If you’re using the service portal property to automatically redirect users for their primary Identity Provider, Service Gateway will automatically redirect them to this Identity Provider. But if you have multiple Identity Providers, Service Gateway displays a link on your login page to’Use external login’.
The main reason I mention this link is because Service Gateway provides this connection so that when your customers enter their login information in the portal they can simply click on this hyperlink. It is going to then send them to their own main Identity Provider. This saves them having to go through the lengthy process of receiving their login information manually to the portal. Service Gateway’s solution to this issue is to redirect the customers to their outside supplier.
The next great feature of Service Gateway is its capacity to manage your password storage. Ever since your service is about security and identity then it should be easy to manage your password. Service Gateway utilizes its inbuilt password management tool. If your password becomes compromised it will be automatically reset and you’ll have a safe password again.
Some of the password management tools provided by Service Gateway include the capability to configure your password as you wish, you can also set the password to the user login and then place the password for that user login. If your password becomes compromised along with an individual gets your Service Gateway website using their login data that password will be immediately reset.
All of these features make Service Gateway quite easy to use and configure. There are a whole lot of other features but these mentioned here are what I believe are the best.
The drawback to this system is that so long as you get a password and username set up then your site will be able to be obtained using your own username and password. There are a couple other alternatives like allowing people to have access to your site using an IP address or perhaps allowing them to sign in using a social security number.
A number of the other sites like to charge you some kind of subscription fee when you get access for their own support gateways. You really have to do a bit of study on your own to learn which ones are worth your while. Most of them are a very low cost and cheap for all businesses.
I would also recommend checking the reviews on these websites to see what others consider the services. Personally, I don’t use some of the paid ones since all of them seem very similar.
